How do worms breathe?

Worms spend most of their time underground, so how do they breathe? Believe it or not, there is oxygen in the soil--found between the tiny soil particles. There’s enough oxygen to keep worms alive.

To breathe this oxygen, worms absorb air through their skin. They don’t have lungs.
