Worms have anywhere from two to 11 hearts, depending on the family of earthworm. For example, most worms in the Lumbricidae family have five hearts. Maybe that’s why you’ll often see New York worms wear T-shirts that say, “I ♥♥♥♥♥ NY”.
Actually, these hearts are really pairs of special blood vessels that pump blood all over a worm’s body.
