Your Mission

Greetings, secret agents. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to dive into two thrilling missions—Operation “Pondscum” and Operation “Stormbuster.”

Mission 3: Operation “Pondscum”

• Step 1—Go to the Lakes and Rivers section of the Secret Vault.
• Step 2—Hunt through the Lakes and Rivers section of the vault for answers to these deep questions:
  1. What are the most common types of pollution in lakes?
  2. What are the most common types of pollution in rivers?
  3. What is streambank erosion?
• Step 3—Write down your answers on the Operation “Pondscum” Top-Secret Report Sheet LINK UNKNOWN. Then take one of your answers and turn it into a coded message, using a Super-Secret Code Machine! To learn how to create a Code Machine, the report sheet has instructions.

Mission 4: Operation “Stormbuster”

• Step 1—Go to the Stormwater section of the Secret Vault.
• Step 2—Hunt through the Stormwater section of the vault for answers to these big-time questions:
  1. What do storm sewers have to do with our lakes and rivers?
  2. What does it mean to “drain the rain”?
  3. What does it mean to “lose the ooze”?
• Step 3—Write down your answers on the Operation “Stormbuster” Top-Secret Report Sheet LINK UNKNOWN. Then take one of your answers and turn it into a coded message, using a Number Cipher. To learn how to do this, the report sheet has instructions.
